As part of a visit by the European Commission at the start of Croatia's EU presidency, Foreign and European Affairs Minister Gordan Grlić Radman 9 January 2020 met with the European Commissioner for Trade, Phil Hogan.

The two officials talked about the main topics and priorities of Croatia's EU presidency as regards the Foreign Affairs Council (Trade), which is to be chaired for the next six months by Grlić Radman.

They also exchanged views on the EU-US and EU-China trade relations, and discussed the 12th WTO ministerial conference, to be held in June 2020, as part of which FAC/Trade will also convene.
