Ministry of Finance of Republic of Indonesia : Government Plans to Establish Economic Zone in NTT

Jakarta, 30/12/2016 MoF - In 2017, the government plans to build economic zone in East Nusa Tenggara, to boost local economy. When his working visit, the President Joko Widodo instructs the development of economic zones in Motaain.

'I'm asking to build traditional market. Later, Motaain will also be the economic zone, becoming a new growth point for NTT, 'said the President as reported through the pages of the Ministry of the State Secretariat on Thursday (29/12).

According to the president, one of the main keys of development in NTT is the availability of water. To that end, the government will build a number of dams to overcome the problem. 'Now there are 7 (reservoir), we want to add more. The key is water, nothing else. If water exists, NTT will be green and good for agriculture. I think NTT has potential for development,' the president added.

The President also believes that the economy of the border region in NTT will continue to grow in the next two years. He was also convinced that local products can penetrate the export market, mainly to neighboring countries.(as)
