The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy from now on supports the presentation of innovative flagship projects for energy-efficient solutions in buildings"Made in Germany" abroad in the context of the Energy Efficiency Export Initiative. After a successful pilot phase in the Baltic region in 2013 and in Ireland in 2014, the measure will now gradually be expanded to further countries. Advertising for the flagship projects takes the form of object visits, expert workshops and public relations work organized by the bilateral chambers of industry and commerce. German companies can directly contact the relevant bilateral chamber of industry and commerce and suggest innovative projects and projects that have already been realized.

Rainer Baake, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, underlines: "Energy-efficient technologies can make a major contribution worldwide especially in the building sectorto reducing  energy consumption and consequently CO2 emissions and energy costs for consumers, enterprises and the public sector. Against the background of the energy transition, German SMEs - planners, architects and providers of products - in particular have a great deal of expertise. The new support module in the context of the Energy Efficiency Export Initiative aims to draw the attention of multipliers and decision-makers abroad to these competences and to the opportunities that energy-saving solutions for buildings offer."

The marketing activities should help to demonstrate in specific objects aspects of the topic of energy efficiencythat may be difficult to understand and present state-of-the-art solutions from the consumer's point of view. The participating German firms benefit from the advertising for the flagship projects. They are given the possibility to present their reference projects to an audience of experts, to systematically intensify their networking and thus to further open up new markets.

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy has set up the Energy Efficiency Export Initiative to support German firms as they develop markets abroad.
