(SHADA: TEHRAN) - More than 1.6 billion tonnes of non-petroleum goods, with a total value of over 388.5 million dollars, have been exported via the Iranian Central Province of Yazd's customs office during nine months of the current calendar year (starting March 21, 2013), a senior provincial customs official said.

From March 21 to December 21, Yazd's non-oil exports have grown by 19 and 4 percent in weight and value, respectively, as compared to the corresponding period last year, the Head of Yazd Customs Administration Asghar Chavoshizadeh noted.

Tiles and ceramics, round bars, cement, ferro-molybdenum and molybdenum oxide, architectural glasses, tar pitch and pistachio were the main exported items during the said period, he added.

Chavoshizadeh went on to point out that 55 countries including Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Turkey, the Netherlands and Pars Special Energy/Economic Zone (PSEEZ) served as the leading target markets for Yazd's products.

During the nine-month period, he noted, nearly 16,360 export declarations were issued by Yazd customs office which is up 4 percent year-on-year.
