Following his meeting today with Togo's State President Gnassingbé, Minister Gerd Müller said:

'Togo is an anchor of stability in West Africa, and must remain so. That is why we want to help create better prospects for the people living there through better vocational education and training, better agricultural yields, and better conditions for investments in Togo's economy.'

Müller, who was visiting Lomé today, pledged to scale up development cooperation between Germany and Togo. The German government will invest an additional 6.5 million euros in measures to innovate agricultural methods and to fight hunger in Togo.
