Vienna.- People's Power Minister of Petroleum Nelson Martínez offered press statements on leaving the first meeting of OPEC and Non OPEC Joint Monitoring Ministerial Committee, which he described as 'very positive and of great expectation due to the oil prices recovery experimented after the Vienna Agreement.

Minister Martínez said on Telesur Television Network that 'considerable progress has been reached within a short time in this matter'. Also, Martínez ratified the oil-producing countries' commitment to achieve the oil production adjustment signed last December 10th.

Minister Martínez recalled that free consensus marked a milestone in the oil history because it was possible to reach an agreement between 24 countries to rebalance the oil international market.

The head of petroleum Ministry pointed out that a route has been charted on this first OPEC and Non OPEC Joint Monitoring Ministerial Committee to establish the monitoring mechanism for the enforcement of the Agreement.

For this it was decided the creation of a joint technical committee which will be responsible for drafting a monthly report about the oil production adjustments of every country committed to this agreement.

Minister Martínez also informed he has initiated international contacts for heading to a next Heads of State OPEC and Non OPEC members Summit that has been proposed by President of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro which is expected to be held within the next months.
