NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jan 28, 2014) - In a recently released infographic Dr. Steinbrech of Men's Plastic Surgery Manhattan revealed that Male Plastic Surgery is as popular as ever today. Apart from the 106% increase in the last 2 decades, statistics have shown that more than 1,000,000 male individuals received cosmetic surgical procedures.

Dr. Steinbrech, however, does not find the results so astonishing. "Men are doing it for job reasons, to look good, to become male models. We have also performed surgeries on many CEOs who are at the top of their game, and want to stay young and very competitive in the boardroom."

The most common procedures that male patients demand are high definition liposuction, jaw augmentation, rhinoplasty and eyelid surgery. Other procedures which were also popular included facelifts and gynecomastia (breast reduction for males).

These procedures are focused on reconstructing the face and body and with subtle differences may allow the patient to look up to 15 years younger.

Dr. Steinbrech identified 4 types of male patients that he has treated so far. Chief among them were male models followed by bodybuilders, athletic dads, and then CEOs.

"By identifying them as such, we can better identify their needs. In fact, these profiles are up on the site for our customers to go through to understand which category they fall in. This helps them understand what the surgical procedure may entail and just how much work they need done."

Males are more conscious about their bodies today than ever before, and have started investing in cosmetic procedures because of the way they are perceived in the workplace. "Appearance is everything in the workplace and the better you look, the better chances you have of ascending that corporate ladder."

Some men are still skeptical about going through a surgical procedure to improve their appearance. Others, on the other hand, may be worried about the implications. "This is just why we released the infographic. We wanted to provide details on what surgery entails. We want to make sure that people are making informed decisions and that male cosmetic surgery is no longer a taboo."

The infographic reveals that most surgical procedures don't have a recovery time of more than a week barring pectoral and buttock implant, which may take up to 6 weeks. Additionally, the pain associated with surgical procedures is moderate, the highest being gynecomastia with a 6 on a sale of 1 to 10.

"We wanted to convey to people that male cosmetic surgery is now stronger than ever and that they shouldn't hesitate to undergo a surgical procedure. Sometimes it can be a key to unlocking the doors to success in their career."
