FirstFuel Software, the world's trusted source of energy use intelligence, today announced that its Remote Building Analytics (RBA) platform is now deployed at more than 15 North American utilities and government agencies, which are using the FirstFuel platform to find and deliver more than $250 million in annual energy reduction opportunity. The milestone marks a key achievement for FirstFuel, which recorded 300 percent growth in 2013 from the prior year.

FirstFuel is now firmly positioned as the leader in energy analytics, with a customer list that includes the nation's largest utilities and government agencies. Among these is the United States General Services Administration (GSA), which selected FirstFuel to target, uncover and continuously monitor energy savings across nearly 125 million square feet of commercial property. FirstFuel has already found $14 million of an expected $40 million in energy savings opportunities, while reducing GSA's building analysis costs by $13 million. In addition, the Washington, D.C., Department of General Services (DC-DGS), for which FirstFuel has already uncovered $3 million in low/no-cost operational savings opportunities, is on track to achieve an aggressive target to reduce energy consumption by 20 percent in 20 months.

Also in 2013, FirstFuel announced $8.5 million in series B financing from new and existing investors, bringing its total financing to $21 million to date and bolstering support to expand the RBA platform and continue expansion into other parts of North America and beyond. E.ON, one of the world's largest utility holding companies serving more than 26 million customers worldwide, was a strategic investor in the most recent round.

"We are proud of the work we have done this year and give sincere thanks to our customers and partners, both new and old, for helping us make significant progress in 2013," said Swap Shah, CEO and co-founder of FirstFuel Software. "We look forward to another busy year and anticipate an even faster trajectory of adoption in 2014 as we improve our SaaS analytics platform and expand our presence worldwide to encourage massive energy savings."

FirstFuel's RBA platform is the industry's first unified, remote analytics platform spanning entire commercial building portfolios and supporting every stage of the energy efficiency and demand reduction lifecycle--from building portfolio screening and auditing to customer engagement and continuous energy performance monitoring--without requiring onsite audits or installed devices. Leveraging interval or monthly utility meter data, the RBA platform has led the design of groundbreaking new customer lead generation, retro-commissioning (RCx), and whole-building M&V programs for utilities and government agencies.
