The Foreseeable Future Foundation (FFF) today announced details for the third annual Seeing Past Sight benefit to be held on Thursday, April 23 at Tribeca Rooftop, 2 Desbrosses Street, in New York City from 6-9PM. The annual gala provides funding that helps support and develop active lifestyles of individuals of all ages and skill-level living with visual impairments. Through program partnerships with dozens of nonprofits, including Camp Abilities, ENVISION and Tri Achilles, FFF’s mission is to support visually impaired and blind individuals through sports and recreation; helping them build confidence, overcome adversity and enjoy sports.

This year, the gala will honor Jennifer Vecchio, President and Chief Merchandising Officer of Burlington Stores, the national off-price retailer. Shelley Smith, five-time Emmy-winning reporter for ESPN, will serve as the Mistress of Ceremonies. Tickets for this year’s event may be purchased at https://foreseeablefuture.org/event/gala-2020/.

Since its founding in 2017, FFF has provided funding to support programming that has benefitted more than 1,200 visually impaired children and adults and allowed them to engage in recreational activities and by doing so, boost confidence and self-esteem.

“I started the Foreseeable Future Foundation because I personally understood the benefits of being involved in sports, pushing the limits and not resting on the sidelines,” said FFF, Founder and Executive Director, Griffin Pinkow. Diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa as a teenager, Griffin has committed his life, and the work of the Foundation, to providing opportunities for young people who are blind or visually impaired, to engage in active lifestyles and athletics.

This year marks the FFF’s third gala in New York City and will feature a silent and live auction, and heartfelt remarks from two visually impaired youths who attended Camp Abilities last summer, made possible by the support of FFF, and the life-changing positive effect this experience has had on their outlook and well-being.

About the Foreseeable Future Foundation: Since 2017 the FFF has helped more than 1,200 children and adults with visual impairment or blindness, regain self-confidence, well-being and physical health through sports and recreation. FFF provides scholarships to individuals that sponsor their participation in athletic events including marathons, triathlons, para cycling events, or Paralympic events and makes grants to nonprofit organizations that provide programmatic work, aligned with FFF’s mission, and which impact more than multiple individuals with a vision disability. Founded in 2017 by Griffin Pinkow who was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa at age 13, the foundation’s mission is to enrich the lives of the visually impaired and blind through sports and recreation. Foreseeable Future Foundation aims to bridge the gap between the sighted and the sightless. www.foreseeablefuture.org
