BANGKOK, May 27 (Reuters) - Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin said on Monday it was necessary to boost the economy in the short term for higher and sustained growth.

The move must be within the framework of strict financial and fiscal discipline, Srettha posted on social media platform X. He will meet with economic ministers later on Monday to find ways to lift the economy that has lagged regional peers.
