Secretary Quigley to Host Webinar on New Plans to Reduce Methane Waste
Harrisburg, PA -Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Secretary John Quigley will host a webinar to expand on Governor Tom Wolf's strategy to reduce methane emissions. The webinar will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 11:30 am.

Sec. Quigley will outline the four main points of the strategy to reduce methane emissions, which contribute to climate change. Methane has a powerful short-term impact on the climate, with than 25 times more warming power than carbon dioxide over a 100-year timeframe and it's 84 times more potent than CO2 over 20 years. In addition to the climate impacts, it's estimated that methane leaks cost the energy industry an estimated $60 million each year in lost natural gas that never reaches the market.
