MUSCATINE, Iowa - Muscatine Power & Water (MPW) plans to close a lane of Bidwell Street at the intersection with U.S. 61 on Wednesday (Jan. 24) to investigate a suspected broken valve and install a fire hydrant to flush the line out.

MPW plans to close the lane on Bidwell heading into Muscatine off of U.S. 61 starting at 7 a.m. Wednesday. Signs will be placed in both turning lanes of U.S. 61 and across the bypass at Kent Estates. It is unknown how long the lane closure will last.

Drivers should also expect delays on Mississippi Drive next week as MPW works to install the traffic signals at the Mississippi Drive-Iowa Avenue intersection. Drivers can expect some delays Monday (Jan. 29) through Wednesday (Jan. 31) with the southbound lane closed at Iowa Avenue on Thursday (Feb. 1) and Friday (Feb. 2). The northbound lane will remain open.

There will also be no parking on Mississippi Drive from Sycamore to Pine Street from Monday (Jan. 29) through Friday (Feb. 2).
