As of today, the number of customs inspections is decreased by 7 times - compared with 2009, in 4 times - compared with 2010 and in 2 times - compared to 2011.

In 2009, 69% goods were subjected to the customs clearance, in 2010 - 42%, in 2011 - 22%, in 2012 - 9.9%. And this is despite the fact that according to the program of external assistance of the European Union, Ukraine has committed as of 01.01.2013 to reduce the number of customs inspections to 15%.

Significantly the number of customs inspections was reduced in connection with the entry into force of the Customs Code, which established an inspection of goods as a result of the risk management system.

In fact inspection is a long, time-consuming and costly procedure. That is why the purpose of customs inspectors is an implementation of the inspection only by operation of the automated system of risk or if there is information of a violation of law.

After the entry into force of the Customs Code of Ukraine number of reviews for the period June-December 2012 is (import) - 5.1%, (exports) - 0.8%, in transit - 0.6%, all in all customs regimes - 3.9%.
