Willie Png

In 1995, Willie Png was the co-founder & Vice-president of Imagine Interactive Inc. Pte Ltd, (Imagine) which specialized in developing innovative 3D and Virtual Reality (VR) technologies.
He managed the entire technical and creative team, taking care especially, of the technical aspect of the company.
In 1999, Willie led a management buyout of Imagine, and upon garnering investments from Creative Technology Ltd (Creative), converted the company to PixAround.com Pte Ltd (PixAround) to lead the dotcom charge.
He has successfully transformed PixAround to a premier solution provider of 360° interactive panoramic content.
PixAround’s product, PixMakerTM, is currently sold worldwide through international resellers, distributors and online store.
PixAround was bought over by Creative in 2001.
Willie then joined Creative as a director to help out in the overall business for the Video & Imaging Product group, while still maintaining as a Managing Director in PixAround.
Willie started his career in 1991, with the industry-renowned 3D software company, Alias Research in Toronto, Canada.
He was one of the software designer & developer in 3D animation and user interface teams.
Then in 1993, Willie went back to Singapore to be a research staff at the Institute of Systems Science (ISS) where he worked & researched on networked VR systems.
His accomplishments in the ISS included the creation of a developments toolkit for multi-user VR environments.
Willie obtained both his Bachelor of Math and Master of Math degrees in Computer Science in1989 and 1991 respectively at the University of Waterloo, Canada.
While at university and ISS, Willie has co-authored several papers on computer graphics and virtual reality.
