Warthen is Vice President-Actuarial Services of RLI Corp.
He is responsible for RLI actuarial activities, including policy rate determinations, assisting in developing loss reserves, and participating in new product development.
He assumed his RLI duties in 1996, coming from Tillinghast and Towers Perrin Reinsurance in Philadelphia, where he was a Principal.
His duties there included the design and implementation of Dynamic Financial Analysis models as well as analysis of case law decisions' effect on insurers.
He brings nearly 30 years of industry actuarial experience to the company.
He earned a B.S.
in mathematics from The John Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md.
