Dr. Thomas Dohmen is a Research Director at Forschungsinstitut zur Zukunft der Arbeit GmbH.
He is a Professor of Applied Microeconomics at the University of Bonn, and a Professor of Education and the Labor Market at the School of Business and Economics of Maastricht University.
His current research interests are in behavioral and experimental economics, applied micro econometrics, life-cycle formation of cognitive & non-cognitive skills, psychology of incentives, personnel, and organizational economics.
From December 2007 until December 2012, he was Director of the Research Center for Education and the Labor Market (ROA).
From January 2003 until November 2007, he was employed as a Research Associate at IZA.
He studied economics at Maastricht University, where he received his Master's degree (M.A.) in Economics in December 1998 and his doctoral degree in May 2003.
He also holds an M.Sc.
in Economics from the University of Warwick (England).
In his doctoral studies, he specialized in labor economics and applied micro econometrics.
He visited the Economics Department at the University of Chicago from January 2002 until June 2002.
