Prior to joining Fiduciary Trust in 1992, Mr. Thormahlen was president of Thormahlen Investment Management, Inc., a private investment counseling firm he founded in 1989.
Before founding his own firm, Mr. Thormahlen was vice president and regional manager for Chase Manhattan Private Banking in Washington, first vice president and manager of the Investment Management Division of Sovran Bank/Maryland and assistant director of bank investments for the American Bankers Association.
Mr. Thormahlen is a board member and vice chairman of the Fairfax County (VA) Parks Foundation, a board member and chairman of the finance committee of the International Art Galleries Association in Washington, D.C.
and serves on the board of the Washington Project for the Arts/Corcoran Gallery.
He received a B.A.
in economics and political science from the State University of New York at Fredonia in 1974.
