In 2017 I co-founded 3L Capital, a growth equity firm based in Los Angeles and New York focused on investments in the consumer, technology, and data services sectors.
Previously, I co-founded Demand Media (now Leaf Group: NYSE) in April 2006 and served in a number of positions including CEO and director.
At Demand I led a number of successful acquisitions of content, technology, and service companies and also guided a number of the company's successful capital raises as a part of a team that raised over $450 million worth of equity and debt, including the company's initial public offering in 2011.
During my time as the company's CEO we completed a successful spinoff of RightSide (Nasdaq: NAME), transitioned our sales & marketing strategy, and tightened our focus on creator-based marketplaces.
I remained on the board of Rightside for a period post the spin-off.
Prior to founding Demand Media/Rightside, I was a Principal with Spectrum Equity Investors, a $4 billion private equity firm.
Spectrum is a growth-oriented private equity firm whose investments have included market-leading companies such as Ancestry.com, GrubHub/Seamless, SurveyMonkey, Demand Media, and many others.
I have a B.S.E.
in Civil Engineering and Operations Research from Princeton University.
