Dr. Paul Billyard is a Managing Director at Evercore Capital Partners.
Prior to joining Evercore, he worked at Lehman Brothers in the New York and London offices covering both Industrial and Consumer clients from an M&A perspective.
Before Lehman, he worked in Nikko Securities’ London office for two years.
Dr. Billyard advised on the sale of Cole National Corporation to Luxottica, several divestitures for Chiquita Brands International and the merger of Miller Brewing Company with South African Breweries by Philip Morris to form SABMiller.
Other notable transactions include the split-off of EDS from General Motors, Purolator Products Company’s sale to Mark IV Industries, acquisition of Applied Automation from ABB by Siemens, acquisition of Chase Brass by Olin Corporation, acquisition of Medusa by Southdown and its subsequent sale to Cemex, acquisition of Sema by Schlumberger, acquisition of DSC Communications and Xylan for Alcatel, acquisition by Ameritech of a stake in Belgacom, sale of Illinois Central to CN Railways, sale of Raytheon’s Marine electronics business to Merrill Lynch Private Equity and the acquisition of the Widia cutting tools business of Milacron for Kennametal.
Dr. Billyard received a first class Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in applied chemistry from Nottingham Trent University and a Doctor of Philosphy in metallurgy from Oxford University where he was sponsored by British Petroleum plc.
