Prior to joining Chartwell in 2004, Mr. Rolland retired as a Managing Director of Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. in 2000 and since then has been active as an independent adviser.
He founded and managed Merrill Lynchs Exclusive Sales and Divestitures Group which, under his leadership, became a major factor in the middle market mergers and acquisition business in the U.S.
and Canada.
His clients in more than 250 transactions have included major corporations, family businesses, entrepreneurs, and many leading private equity groups.
Mr. Rolland joined Merrill Lynch following its acquisition of Warburg Paribas Becker in 1984, where he had specialized in international mergers and acquisitions since 1977.
He began his career as an Investment Manager with Ivory & Sime in Edinburgh, Scotland.
Mr. Rolland currently serves on the Board of Directors of Carey International, Inc. and PlayCore Holdings, Inc. He received his MA from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland and his MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
