Karime Hajar Alves

Karime joined BASF Venture Capital in 2021.
She started her career with innovation consulting and VC investments in Brazil.
Subsequently, she was responsible for structuring the corporate venture arm of TOTVS, a leader technology company in Brazil, and played a role in the M&A department supporting its inorganic growth strategy, corporate innovation and internationalization.
She also worked in the Corporate Development and M&A department of Cielo, a payment processor, and was in charge of structuring venture debt transactions for startups in SPVentures.
She studied Marine Engineering at Sao Paulo’s University in Brazil, completed a master’s degree in sustainable development at ParisTech in France and also she studied innovation, entrepreneurship and venture capital in an academic partnership of GVcepe (FGV Private Equity Study Centre) with Berkeley.
