Prior to joining Key Venture in 2001, Dr. McCullen worked as a Manaaging Director at the venture capital firms of Whitney & Co. and Oneliberty Ventures, for 18 years.
During this period of time, his investments were in communications and information technology.
He was a founding investor in such successful companies as TeleCopor, Brooks Fiber Properties, Intermedia Communications, Eastern Telelogic, MetroNet, NuVox and metro PCS.
Earlier in his career, he serviced as a Special Assistant to the President of the US, Assistant Secretary of the Navy and acting Secretary of the Navy.
Currently, he serves on several boards including NuVox, metroPCS, Atlantis Bidding and Telecoprt WCS.
He serves as Chairman of McCullen Captial, LLC, a family office firm.
Dr. McCullen holds a Ph.D.
(hon.) from his alma mater Villanova University and is a recipient of two Distinguished Service Medals.
