Joe McDermott

Joe is an Investment Research Analyst for Cassaday & Company.
Since arriving at the firm in July 2004, Joe has focused on portfolio planning, performance reporting, fund analysis and special research topics.
He also supports operational tasking by monitoring client portfolios, tracking market news and trends and serving as a member of the Investment Policy Committee.
Joe brings to Cassaday over twenty years of experience in the government-contracting arena where he specialized in financial planning and analysis for General Electric, Contel Federal Systems, GTE Government Systems and DynCorp.
His background includes strategic planning, business development, and program planning and control and project management.
In addition to the advanced analytical skills from his work background, Joe's extended history as a successful, active investor has provided him with in-depth knowledge of the mutual fund industry.
Joe is a graduate of the University of Maryland, University College where he earned a B.S.
in Business Management with an emphasis in accounting.
He currently resides in Reston, Virginia with his wife Libby and son Michael.
Active in the community, Joe has served as an officer of, and advisor to, several community organizations and associations.
He is also an active volunteer at his son's school, coaches for Reston Little League and supports the Boy Scouts.
