Javier Ramos

Javier is co-founder of Arrebol Capital.
As a kid, he was fascinated with futuristic technology that he saw in movies and books.
His career choices have been mostly driven by that fascination.
Our founders benefit from his expertise in software, data science and AI, as well as in all the aspects of building a technology company from scratch.
He has been part of several early stage startups and understands the challenges of going from idea to MVP to main stream adoption.
For more than 8 years he was part of the AI research group at NASA Ames Research Center, where he was the lead for the EUROPA open source project.
The automated planning software he helped create has been used in a number of NASA missions including Mars Rovers Spirit and Opportunity, the Phoenix Mars Lander, the LADEE Lunar Orbiter and the EDSN Cubesat mission.
His love for working at the intersection of business and technology took him through the main tech hubs in the US.
Throughout his professional career he has taken on most key roles in product development such as Software Architect, Engineering Manager, Pre-sales engineer, Forward deployed consultant, and Product Manager.
He spent 15+ years in enterprise software creating AI/ML products sold to Global 1000 companies in the US, Europe and Asia.
During 2014-2019 he was Chief Architect and executive team member at Orbital Insight, a Silicon Valley startup backed by Sequoia Capital and Google Ventures.
Javier holds Industrial Engineering and Computer Engineering degrees from Universidad de los Andes.
He also holds an M.S.
in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and an M.S.
in Operations Research from The University of Texas at Austin.
