Mr. James Cheng is Senior Advisor at Morgan Stanley Investment Management Co. (Singapore).
Until December 2012, he was CEO for Morgan Stanley Investment Management Singapore and Lead Portfolio Manager for Asian Equity Strategies.
Prior to re-joining Morgan Stanley in 2006, he was the CIO for Asia at Invesco Asia Fund Management in Hong Kong.
Prior to that, he was co-founder and portfolio manager of Asia Strategic Investment Management, a boutique asset management firm investing in Asian markets.
Before this, he was a portfolio manager for Morgan Stanley Investment Management's Asian Equity team.
Mr. Cheng received a Bachelor of Social Science in Economics from the University of Hong Kong and an MBA from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, USA. He is a member of the Investment Advisory Committee for the University of Michigan Endowment Fund and an advisory council member of the Centre for Asset Management Research & Investments (CAMRI), a research facility of the National University of Singapore.
