Hans Schellnhuber

The Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research is an interdisciplinary research institute focused on advancing integrated research for sustainability and a safe and just climate future. The institute is a member of the Leibniz Association and is based in Potsdam, Germany. The institute's research topics include weather, extremes, and atmosphere; ice, oceans, and sea level rise; land use, food, water, and ecosystems; climate policy, economics, and energy; health, security, and development; complex networks, machine learning, and decision theory; and planetary boundaries, tipping elements, and commons. The institute provides relevant scientific advice for policy decision-making and has an international staff of about 400 led by a committed interdisciplinary team of directors.

The European Climate Foundation is an organization that promotes climate and energy policies. The non-profit company is based in The Hague, Netherlands. The Dutch company was founded by John H. McCall MacBain.
