Dr. Vineyard retired from active medical practice in March 2000 and currently serves as president and chairman of the Board of Massachusetts Health Data Consortium.
He served as the surgeon-in-chief of Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates and director of Surgical Specialties and Radiology from 1991 to May 1999, when he became interim chief executive officer.
He also worked as a Director for Lifeline Systems, Inc. He was chief of surgery of Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, from 1980 to 1991.
He was also associate clinical professor of surgery at the Harvard Medical School.
