Hutchinson
is General Partner at Research Triangle Ventures LLC and Chairman at First Flight Ventures.
In addition, he is a co-founder of Hutchison & Mason PLLC.
His practice is focused on venture capital, securities and merger and acquisitions.
He has represented more than 200 entrepreneurial companies over the years and has worked with some of the Triangle's leading technology companies, including Integrated Silicon Systems, Cree Research, Trimeris, SciQuest, Ganymede, Accipiter, OpenSite Technologies and Icagen.
Mr. Hutchison was the founding President of the Council for Entrepreneurial Development, the largest entrepreneurial support organization in the country.
He has also served in the past as the Chairman of the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, the Chairman of the Business Innovation Technology Advancement Center (an incubator for early stage companies) and the founding Chairman of The Sports Council.
He has served as the Chairman of the Triangle Community Foundation and Co-Chairman of the Entrepreneurial Advisory Committee for the Catalyst Project, whose goal is to increase the level of permanent philanthropic giving within the community.
Mr. Hutchison earned a B.S.
in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1971 and his law degree from the University of Virginia in 1975.
