The company was founded by Dimitris Koutsolioutsos and Ketty Koutsolioutsos in 1982 and is headquartered in Athens, Greece.

The Company in 2005 generated approximately 1.8 billion euro in revenues and 340 million euro in net profit. Both the Company's EBITDA margin (approx. 42%) and net profit margin (approx. 19%) remain consistently among the highest in Europe. In addition, COSMOTE has expanded its operations in B2B and B2C services through its participation in CosmoONE and COSMO-MEGALA KATASTIMATA respectively.
