Detlef Rethage

Mr. Rethage has served as President of Avecia Biotechnology Inc, a leading Boston-based drug development services company for DNA and RNA based therapeutics, since 2005.
At Avecia, he spearheaded a successful turnaround, and the company was recently sold by Private Equity firms Cinven and Invest Corp to Nitto Denko.
Prior to Avecia, Mr. Rethage was the Executive Vice President Operations at Ricerca Biosciences, a drug discovery and development services company backed by SG Capital Partners.
From 1998 to 2002, Mr Rethage worked in for Huels AG as Vice President and General Manager of the Fine Chemicals Business with global P&L responsibility for a $120M revenue business based in New Jersey.
During that tenure, Mr. Rethage was also responsible for merging and integrating two other businesses units into Fine Chemicals.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Rethage held a number of different positions for Huels, including in Corporate Development and Merger & Acquisitions, where he led the execution of a number of strategic transactions.
