Balangue is currently serving as the Chairman & President of Makati Commercial Estate Association, Inc. He is also the Chairman of Coalition Against Corruption.

In his former roles, Mr. Balangue served as the Chairman & Managing Partner of SyCip Gorres Velayo & Co. He was also the Chairman of Makati Parking Authority, FINEX Research & Development Foundation, Inc., and National Citizen's Movement For Free Election.
He held the position of Chairman & President at SGV Foundation and served as the Chairman of the Philippine Financial Reporting Standards Council and MAP Research & Development Foundation.
Additionally, he was the Chairman of the Philippines Korea Economic Council and the Philippine Center For Population & Development.
He also served as an Independent Director at Philippine Bank of Communications, Inc., Macay Holdings, Inc., Holcim Philippines, Inc., ACEN Corp., and Roxas Holdings, Inc. Furthermore, he held the position of Executive Vice President at The Financial Executives Institute and served as the President of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants and The Management Association of the Philippines.
He was a Trustee at Makati Business Club, Philippine Business For Social Progress, Manila Polo Club, Inc., and Capital Market Development Council.
Mr. Balangue completed his undergraduate studies at Manuel L.
Quezon University in 1971.
He also pursued graduate studies at Kellogg School of Management.
