Darren is a board manager of Saisei Ventures and is responsible for finance, accounting, and administrative management.
Previously, Darren was the CFO of Nezu Asia Capital Management, a Hong Kong based equity long/short hedge fund manager, where for nine years he managed on a full-time basis all accounting matters for the firm and the funds that it manages and acts as a director of its funds.
At Nezu, Darren held the roles of CFO and Chief Compliance Officer, and in these roles oversaw accounting and compliance matters for a complex organization with $2.1bn of peak assets under management, sixty staff, nine hedge funds and thirteen client managed accounts, and office locations in four countries with corresponding regulatory licenses or registrations in each.
Prior to joining Nezu, Darren was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs Administration Services in both Hong Kong and Cayman, where among other tasks he produced and reviewed fund net asset values and financial reporting for the firm’s hedge fund clients.
Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, he worked for BDO Cayman Islands and Collins Barrow as a Chartered Accountant.
Darren is a CPA and CA, completed his CASB modules at the CA School of Business in Alberta, Canada in 2002 and received a B.Comm from the University of Athabasca in 2000.
