Daniel Northrup

Dan was the Director Of Special Projects at Benson Hill working in novel protein sources for animal nutrition and plant based meats.
He is a biochemist and geneticist, and worked on innovative R&D portfolio design and management as a consultant for ARPA-E from Booz Allen.
He designed and managed programs in plant breeding for bioenergy crops, soil carbon sequestration, and agricultural emissions markets.
He regularly consulted between ARPA-E and DARPA and developed collaborations between biologists and computer scientists to bring machine learning algorithms to plant biology.
Dan has a PhD from University of Pennsylvania in immunology and a biomedical engineering degree from Duke.
