Health Information Trust Alliance Honors WellPoint with Information Security, Education and Training Awareness Award

INDIANAPOLIS - January 28, 2014 - WellPoint, Inc. (NYSE: WLP) announces it has been awarded the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) InfoSec award for Information Security Education, Training and Awareness. HITRUST honors individuals and organizations that have demonstrated outstanding contributions to the advancement of information security in the health care industry.

HITRUST conducted nearly 6000 security assessments in 2013 and WellPoint was selected as the highest scoring organization in the area of Information Security Education, Training and Awareness. WellPoint was evaluated by HITRUST criteria that assure members, clients, and business partners that the company meets the high standards within the health care industry for managing security risks and protecting health information.
