NEW YORK, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- COMEDY CENTRAL is about to get up close and personal with Aziz Ansari. Filmed in front of a packed house at the Brentwood Theater in Los Angeles, the World Television Premiere of "Aziz Ansari: Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening" debuts Sunday, January 17 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Coming off of his phenomenal breakout year, COMEDY CENTRAL is bringing critically-acclaimed comedian and actor Aziz Ansari ("Parks and Recreation," "Funny People") to the stage where he'll discuss topics ranging from sheets with fraudulent thread counts to the chubbiness of his young cousin, Harris, in this brand-new, one-hour stand-up special.

On Tuesday, January 19, "Aziz Ansari: Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening" DVD is extended and uncensored and released nationwide by COMEDY CENTRAL Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment. Bonus material includes a Comedy Death Ray performance at the UCB Theater in LA. "Aziz Ansari: Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening" will be also available, extended and uncensored, on download-to-own platforms including iTunes (pre-order Tuesday, January 5) and Amazon Video On Demand, as well as in standard and high definition versions on Xbox LIVE Marketplace, Zune and PlayStation Store.

Also on January 19, COMEDY CENTRAL Records will release the CD of "Aziz Ansari: Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening." The CD will also be available on iTunes.

Recently named one of Entertainment Weekly's top future stars of comedy, Ansari exploded onto the entertainment scene this year. Aside from his current starring role opposite Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones in NBC's critically-acclaimed series "Parks and Recreation," Ansari's television credits also include MTV's hit sketch comedy series "Human Giant," a guest starring role on HBO's "Flight of the Conchords" and a multi-episode arc on ABC's "Scrubs." His feature film credits include "I Love You, Man" with Paul Rudd and Jason Segel, "Observe and Report" with Seth Rogen and Anna Faris and "Funny People" opposite Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen, from which the character "Raaaaaaaandy" was born. The popularity of this character has even led Judd Apatow to commission a series of "Raaaaaaaandy" based mockumentaries which have been released on FunnyOrDie.com. Most recently, it was announced that Judd Apatow and Universal Pictures have picked up a trio of comedy pitches from Ansari and Jason Woliner, with Ansari attached to star and Woliner to direct. Ansari won the Jury Award for Best Stand-Up at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen in 2006, was selected for Rolling Stone's annual "Hot List" as their choice for "Hot Stand-Up" in 2005 and Paste Magazine recently named him one of the "Top 10 Comedians of the Decade."

"Aziz Ansari: Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening" is sponsored by Kia Motors on January 17th.
