  • Will help the industry-focused university sector institution adapt to change faster and more efficiently
  • Implementation partner Williams Woodward to use the UNIT4 Agresso education template for rapid return on investment

UK and Netherlands, May 6, 2014. UNIT4, the global leader in software that supports business change, today announced that Ravensbourne is to implement Agresso Finance in the cloud. The solution, which is part of UNIT4's higher education offering, UNIT4 Campus, will enable Ravensbourne to adapt more easily to the changing sector landscape, improve services to users and reduce its reliance on costly IT resources.

Ravensbourne is an industry-focused university sector institution located in the heart of London. Via self-service, Agresso Finance will provide real-time financial information centred on users' roles to any device that has web access.

"We need to maintain our world-class education services at a time of great change," said Fraser Burrill, Director of Finance at Ravensbourne. "The optimal use of finances will be key to this aim, and Agresso will provide the visibility and workflow we need to react quickly to internal and external change. Cloud computing is proven in the private and public sectors; in education it will allow us to redirect resources away from maintaining IT infrastructures towards better education services and facilities."

Williams Woodward, UNIT4's strategic implementation partner for Further Education, will implement the solution using the UNIT4 Agresso education template. The template has been developed based on vast implementation experience in the sector and provides in-built good process straight 'out-of-the-box', meaning rapid best practice implementation, reduced costs and a faster return on investment.

Financial information will be hosted at the state of the art UNIT4 Cloud data centre at Next Generation Data in Newport, Wales. This means that Ravensbourne will not need to schedule patching or upgrade time, manage the database, or invest in heavy-duty on-premise networks.

UNIT4 is the leading provider of back-office systems to the post-16 education sector in the UK, counting 30 per cent of Further Education institutions among its customers.
