Tribe Technology (AIM:TRYB) CEO Charlie King speaks to Thomas Warner from Proactive London about the pioneering work the company is doing creating autonomous drill rigs for the mining industry. King explains that the Tribe Technology was founded in 2019 with a mission to revolutionise mining by replacing manual labor with autonomous machines, ahead of a new wave of demand for drill rigs caused by markets starting to seek out fresh supplies of critical minerals to feed the green energy transition.
He highlights the fact that traditional drilling operations are not only physically demanding and dangerous but also inefficient. By removing human operators, he says Tribe will remove drill operators from danger during drilling, reduce drilling costs and increase drill rig uptime.
The leap in efficiency could mean a quick return on investment for major mining companies. Recently, the company completed its AIM-listing in London with a view to growing significantly during the coming years. Having already signed an agreement with Anglo American, Tribe Technology plans to expand into neglected market segments and tackle industry problems head-on, solidifying its reputation as the go-to brand for automated mining equipment.
