Transneft-Logistics organized transportation of outsize pipeline equipment between Transneft facilities involving motor and railway transport in the second half of 2016.

Transportation of 12 PIG traps, 8 of which were delivered from Far Eastern Region to the production and technical maintenance and equipment procurement base of Transneft Siberia in Tyumen, has been performed as part of the project. Another 4 PIG traps have been transported from Western Siberia to Nikolskoe line operation dispatcher station of Transneft Druzhba, located in Tambov Region. Maximum weight of one equipment unit is equal to about 50 tons.

To optimize transport costs, Transneft-Logistics performed consolidation of the freights, delivered by motor transport from different industrial sites, at the stations of Far Eastern, Krasnoyarsk and Western Siberia railroads. This decision allowed increasing economic efficiency of transportation by 30% due to reducing the number of necessary rolling stock. After consolidation the PIG traps were located at railway platforms for further sending to stations of Sverdlovsk and South-Eastern railroads, wherefrom they were delivered by motor transport to destination points after unloading.
