In 2016 the Inspection Department of Transneft Diascan inspected 582 oil and petroleum products storage tanks. The inspection work was performed under the joint program for inspection of OPS pipelines and facilities of Transneft for 2016.

80 tanks were put to comprehensive technical inspection with taking out of operation and 148 tanks - to partial technical inspection without taking out of operation.

Additional examination of 354 tanks was performed: monitoring of tanks (117 pieces), control of the technical condition of aluminium dome roofs of vertical steel tanks (19 pieces), control of the condition of external corrosion-resistant coating (93 pieces), additional flaw-detection inspection (X-ray) of weld joints between the third and the fourth tank shell rings (88 pieces) and other work. The inspection included the use of ultrasonic, acoustic emission and radiographic control methods.

The main part of the work was performed at the facilities of Transneft Western Siberia (85 tanks), Transneft Druzhba (82 tanks), Transneft Urals (75 tanks), Transneft - Siberia (65 tanks) and Transneft Volga Region (51 tanks).

Besides, in 2016 Transneft Diascan inspected more than 1.5 thousand units of extra equipment of the linear portion of oil and petroleum products trunk pipelines (repair shells, air escape valves, joints, annunciators, sockolets, fids, pressure taps, PIG traps, leakage collection tanks of PIG traps). In addition to that, more than 3.5 thousand units of mechanical-process equipment, more than 1 thousand units of power equipment and 565 telemechanics and automation systems were inspected. 120 km of process pipelines of OPS were examined and 23 km of sections of process pipelines of the linear portion of oil trunk pipelines (OTP) and OPS (crossover lines between oil pipelines, collectors of trunk pump units, pressure oil pipelines, pipelines of the linear portion of OTP, which may not be inspected using in-line inspection tools and non-destructive test methods) were put to comprehensive technical inspection.

The inspection work was performed both by the own efforts of the company and with involvement of subcontracting organizations. According to the results of the inspection, the condition of the inspected facilities is acknowledged satisfactory, repair plans for elimination of revealed defects were drawn up.
