Transneft' AK : Transneft – Kozmino Port, LLC commissioned two additional units for measuring oil quality parameters

Transneft - Kozmino Port, LLC commissioned two additional processing units for measuring oil quality parametersas part of Technical Upgrading, Revamping and Overhaul Program program (TUR&OH) of pipeline transportation facilities approved by Transneft, JSC.

Units for measuring oil quality parameters (QMP) are meant for operating control for quality parameters of oil pumped through 'Flowline to the Oil Depot' oil trunk pipeline, with length of 23 km, which is laid from railway overpasses site to the oil depot.

The main function of the processing QMP is automated measurement of oil amount and its quality parameters, such as temperature, density, viscosity. This information, which is on-line transferred to the supervisory control and data acquisition system, allows calculating necessary pipeline operating practice upon oil pumping.

All the equipment for the QMP is domestically produced (at Transneftemash Factory of Velikiye Luki, branch of Transneft Upper Volga, JSC). The new equipment corresponds to high quality standards; its functioning is characterized with particular accuracy. Each QMP is equipped with Russian-manufactured densimeter, which measures cinematic viscosity besides measuring density.

Transneft - Kozmino Port, LLC plans to use the QMP for transferring measuring information to the new Automated Operative Oil Accounting System (AOOAS), which will be implemented in the port in 2016. The system will allow controlling oil quantity and quality upon its transportation, storage, shipping and supply, performing oil inventory, automating report documents preparation.
