Tikkurila has chosen the green Fjord as the Color of the Year 2016. Part of the Feel the Color collection, Fjord (color code M442) has a deep, mysterious glow and takes its inspiration from an ecological lifestyle. It is organic, even dramatic, yet also has a Scandinavian down-to-earth and homey feel.

Tikkurila encourages people to experiment with colors. 'Color will bring a bit of change into your environment and may even be a daily source of inspiration. The lovely deep green can be used on large surfaces on walls, and it's also perfect for smaller decorative details,' says Marika Raike, Tikkurila's Design Manager.

Metallic shades are still going strong. For example, gold is an ideal accent color for Fjord. Different shades of green can also be combined to create sophisticated decors.

Tikkurila has also put together a guide for inspiration for 2016, containing selected color collections that reflect the spirit of the times.
