Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE:THC) will serve as the presenting sponsor of the fifth annual Clinton Health Matters Activation Summit, scheduled for January 24-25, 2016 in Indian Wells, Calif. The summit is the annual convening of the Clinton Health Matters Initiative (CHMI), an initiative of the Clinton Foundation. More than 400 health and wellness leaders from across healthcare, government, public policy, business, education and sports are expected to attend the summit, with additional participation across the country via live webcast and social media.

'As a leading healthcare services company, Tenet is committed to improving the health of individuals, families and communities by improving care delivery and promoting healthy behaviors,' said Trevor Fetter, chairman and CEO of Tenet. 'We are proud to work with the Clinton Health Matters Initiative to bring attention to successful collaborations and initiatives that are improving the health of millions of Americans.'

Fetter will deliver opening remarks and introduce President Bill Clinton at the Summit's opening plenary on Monday, January 25. Reginald Eadie, M.D., the CEO of Tenet-owned Detroit Medical Center's Detroit Receiving Hospital, DMC Harper University Hospital and DMC Hutzel Women's Hospital, will participate in the opening panel discussion, 'The Quest for Longevity and Our Rising Death Rates.'

Also during the Summit, Carolyn Caldwell, CEO of Tenet's Desert Regional Medical Center, will provide an update about CHMI's Blueprint for Action in the Coachella Valley, Calif. As part of the local Blueprint for Action, Tenet and Desert Regional Medical Center donated $1.5 million to the Desert AIDS Project to support the Get Tested Coachella Valley campaign. Part of the proceeds helped fund a mobile testing van which provides free and confidential testing. In 2015, more than 26,000 HIV tests were administered and the program has over 70 free testing sites.

'We are so pleased that Tenet Healthcare is once again the Presenting Sponsor of the Clinton Health Matters Activation Summit,' said Rain Henderson, CEO of CHMI. 'Tenet's ongoing commitment to improve the health of all Americans is to be commended and we appreciate their support of our work to do just the same.'

Tenet operates one hospital in the Morongo Basin and two hospitals in the Coachella Valley area, where the summit will take place: Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, John F.
