Lithuanian residents have already converted their litas into euros, and TEO employees have decided who should receive part of the Company's financial support budget. Over five years of the "TEO Litai" project, the Company's employees distributed around LTL 280 thousand for social initiatives.

Before Christmas 2014, TEO employees proposed 23 different projects and organizations, out of which three projects were selected and for which, by voting, the monetary fund of nearly LTL 40 thousand was distributed.

The largest amount of funds - nearly LTL16 thousand - of the "TEO Litai" social project was allocated to the online volunteering project "Children's dreams" (Children's Dreams). Those litas were used to fulfil the wishes of 170 children growing in difficult social conditions. As a result of TEO employees' votes, the Lithuanian Zoo received almost LTL 15 thousand for the improvement of animal living conditions, and the distance education project "Vaizdopamokos.lt" received the financial support amounting to nearly LTL 9 thousand.

"TEO employees' kindness litas, transferred to the beneficiaries at the beginning of this year, have become so very necessary euros. The employees' direct involvement in the Company's socially responsible activities and their contribution to the solution of social problems is part of the philosophy of TEO responsible activities", - Renata Gaudinskaitė, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at TEO LT, AB, says.

"The "TEO Litai" project is an innovative social initiative, during which TEO financial support funds are distributed by taking into consideration the opinions of TEO employees. The projects selected and proposed for this project are the ones that are most compliant with the Company's support policy and directions - innovation, education, social projects and progressive initiatives.

In 2014, TEO allocated over LTL 1.12 million in total for support. "Jaunimo linija" (Youth Line), "Vaikų linija" (Children's Line) and the Association "Langas į ateitį" (Window to the Future) are among the Company's long-standing social partners.

TEO activities were 6 times awarded the National Responsible Business Awards, and its initiatives were evaluated at international contests.
