On December 23, 2022, Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shinji Shimomura) signed Minutes of Understanding (hereinafter referred to as "MoU") with one of affiliated companies of state-owned power utility in Indonesia (PT PLN), PT Pembangkitan Jawa Bali Services (Head Office: East Java Province, Indonesia; President Director: Teguh Widjajanto, hereinafter referred to as "PJB Services"), on"Cooperation in responding to the Policy for Decarbonization and Carbon Neutralization in the Energy Sector in Indonesia".
The government of Indonesia set a goal to achieve net zero emission of greenhouse gas by 2060 which all parties in Indonesia including PJB Services as one of affiliated companies of state-owned power utility are expected to support in achieving the goal.
