STRABAG - Statement of the STRABAG SE Executive Board on the current situation in Ukraine.

Vienna - As a European construction company, we are just as shocked and appalled by the recent events in Eastern Europe as you and many others. This war of aggression is not only in stark contradiction to everything we believe in under international law and morally, it also hurts us personally that the peace project in Europe is being set back by decades.

To put it bluntly, STRABAG strongly condemns this war of aggression by Russia against Ukraine and will support all initiatives aimed at helping the affected people in Ukraine and restoring peace in the region.

Our primary concern as an employer is our colleagues who are affected by the act of war. We are strongly rooted in our countries and therefore want to help locally. We have been made aware that our branches in Poland and the Czech Republic have already launched aid initiatives that provide goods and transport where they are most needed now. In this way, we were able to bring family members of our employees to safety and provide them with the bare necessities. We were also able to provide accommodation in the Republic of Moldova through our long-standing partner organisation, Concordia.

As openly as we address our attitude to this war, we also talk about our shareholder structure. The majority of the shares in STRABAG SE are held by the main Austrian shareholders, the Haselsteiner family and Uniqa/Raiffeisen. They are linked by a syndicate agreement with the Russian company MKAO 'Rasperia Trading Limited', which holds 27.8% of the shares. Oleg Deripaska holds less than 50% of its shares. In accordance with Austrian stock corporation law, the Management Board manages the company on its own responsibility, i.e. without instructions from the Supervisory Board and shareholders.

At the moment, however, our thoughts are above all with all those people who are in a state of emergency or in mortal danger. Like you, we hope for an early de-escalation, an end to hostilities and peace.
