Stage Stores Names Jason Curtis as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer

Stage Stores, Inc. announced the promotion of Jason Curtis to Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. As Interim CFO for the company, Jason has been instrumental in developing multi-year plan to accelerate the conversion to Gordmans off-price stores and growing private label credit card business to record profitability. Mr. Curtis has been with Stage since 2011, most recently serving as its Interim Chief Financial Officer from August 2018 to present.

Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President, Finance and Credit from March 2017. Prior to joining Stage, Mr. Curtis served in various financial roles at Belk, Inc. and The May Department Stores Company.

The Company operates in over 42 states through approximately 727 department stores under the BEALLS, GOODY'S, PALAIS ROYAL, PEEBLES and STAGE nameplates and approximately 68 GORDMANS off-price stores. It also operates an electronic commerce Website for its department store business. The Company's department stores are located in small towns and rural communities. Its off-price stores are located in mid-sized, non-rural Midwest markets. The Company contracts with third-party carriers to deliver merchandise to its stores and customers in the fulfillment of online orders. It enables customers to pick up an online order in a local store through its buy online, ship-to-store program.
