Ariane 5 - 75 successes in a row

75 successes in a row, an all-time record for successful launches in a row blogged the site of Arianespace past week.

And 75 time SABCAwas on board of the launcher with state of the art technology combined with shared passion.

SABCAis a major actor and partner in this Ariane 5 launcher that has been developed in the frame of the European Space agency (ESA).

Thanks to its broad know-how acquired during the previous Ariane programmes, SABCAhas taken the full responsibility for the development, qualification and manufacturing of the following elements and subsystems :

  • Aerostructures: front and rear skirts (JAV/JAR) of the two boosters, as well as the acceleration rocket frames (ARF)
  • Mechatronics: the electro hydraulic thrust vector actuators for the two boosters, the Vulcain main cryogenic engine, and the upper stage cryogenic engine, as well as the pneumatic snatch of connection.

With strong shareholders (Dassault Group and GKN Aerospace/Fokker) and soon celebrating its first century in aerospace, SABCA1200 highly motivated employees master all skills from early phases of 'Build-to-Print' and 'Build-to-spec' programs to full customer support.

SABCAis active in three markets: Civil Aviation, Space and Defense.

In Civil Aviation, competencies in design and manufacturing of complex metal and composite Aerostructures and advanced High-Lift mechanisms enabled SABCAto win numerous Airbus, Dassault Aviation and Gulfstream work packages as a tier-1 and tier-2 partner.

In Space, SABCAis single source for design and manufacturing of all Ariane 5 rocket engine Actuators, VEGA launcher and Ariane 6 complete Thrust Vector Control (TVC) system.

In Defense, SABCAoffers high-end expertise in maintenance, repair and overhaul as well as modernization of military platforms and maintains most of the fleet of the Belgian armed forces. It also works with other European countries, as well as the US Air Force (USAFE), on the F-16.
