INSIDE INFORMATION SUCCESSFUL TENDER FOR A PROJECT

INTRODUCTION

This announcement is made by Sichuan Expressway Company Limited* (the "Company") pursuant to Rule 13.09(2) of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (the "Listing Rules") and the Inside Information Provisions (as defined under the Listing Rules) under Part XIVA of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Chapter 571 of the Laws of Hong Kong).

SUCCESSFUL TENDER FOR A PROJECT

The board of the directors (the "Board") of the Company is pleased to announce that on 4 March 2021, the consortium established by Sichuan Shunan Investment Management Co., Ltd. ("Shunan Company"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company and Sichuan Trading Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. ("TCC") (95% of interest in TCC is held by Sichuan Transportation Investment Group Corporation Limited ("STIG"), a controlling shareholder and connected person of the Company, and its associates (excluding the Company), and therefore TCC is an associate of a connected person of the Company) (the "Consortium") received the Notification of Award issued by the Municipal Transportation Bureau of Lushan County, informing that the Consortium won the tender for the Lushan County Longmen to Baosheng to Dachuan Tourism Highway Construction PPP Project (the "Lushan Tourism Highway Project") through public tender. The total length of the Lushan Tourism HighwayProject is approximately 8.3 kilometers with an estimated total investment amount of approximately RMB390,000,000, and it adopts the BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) mode. The cooperation period is 16 years, of which the construction period is approximately 3 years and the operation period is approximately 13 years (the final operation period shall be subject to a formal agreement).

The bidding of the Lushan Tourism Highway Project was considered and approved by the general manager office of the Company. The Company will enter into the relevant agreement in accordance with the requirements of the Notification of Award and fulfil its obligation of information disclosure in due course based on the progress of the agreement to be entered into subsequently.

GENERAL

As at the date of this announcement, no formal agreement has been entered into in respect of the Lushan Tourism Highway Project, and the investment is subject to uncertainties. Further, there exist uncertainties as to the terms of the agreement and the impact of the Project on the Company. Specific details of the estimated investment amount and the performance terms of the Lushan Tourism Highway Project are subject to the final agreement. If any relevant transaction document is entered into, the Company will comply with relevant provisions under the Listing Rules. The Company will disclose the progress of the Project in due course pursuant to the Listing Rules and based on the actual situation. Investors are advised to pay attention to the investment risks.
