New Century Bancorp Inc. announced that its Board of Directors unanimously approved the appointment of local business owner Ronald V. Ronnie Jackson to serve on the corporate board. Ronnie will help the company continue to keep pace with the community's needs and how it can assist them. Jackson owns and operates Clinton Truck and Tractor Company, a 60-year old local firm where he began working in 1972. Prior to joining Clinton Truck and Tractor, he worked for International Harvester. A civic leader, Jackson provides support as president of the Sampson County Friends of Agriculture, as a board member of the North Carolina State Wolfpack Club, and as a member of the Case IH National Dealer advisory board. He is a member of the board of trustees of the Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce, and a board member and past president of the Clinton 100 Committee. Previously, he served as president of the Clinton Rotary Club; president of the Southeastern Equipment Dealers Association; treasurer and member of the executive committee of the NC Agribusiness Council; president of the Clinton-Sampson Chamber of Commerce; as well as serving for 17 years on the board of trustees of the Sampson Regional Medical Center, including 7 as chairman of the board, in addition to serving on the hospital's Foundation Board.
