MFC Industrial Ltd. announced that, effective August 14, 2013, Silke S. Stenger has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the company. Ms. Stenger is a former director of the company when it was KHD Humboldt Wedag International Ltd. Ms. Stenger is the Chief Financial Officer of Management One Human Capital Consultants Ltd.

The company reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2013. For the six months, the company's revenues increased 48% to $376.2 million, compared to $253.8 million in 2012. Net income attributable to owners of the parent company was $11.2 million, or $0.18 per basic and diluted share against $28.0 million, or $0.45 per basic and diluted share for the same period last year. This was primarily due to reduced iron ore shipments, the loss of the company's Indian operations and foreign exchange loss. Income before income taxes was $14.246 million against $29.597 million a year ago. Income from operations was $17.217 million against $26.258 million a year ago. EBITDA was $36.974 million

For the quarter, the company reported net sales of $166.974 million against $104.445 million a year ago. Income before income taxes was $7.452 million against $11.719 million a year ago. Income from operations was $10.593 million against $11.511 million a year ago. Net income attributable to owners of the parent company was $6.155 million, or $0.10 per basic and diluted share against $11.061 million, or $0.18 per basic and diluted share for the same period last year.

In January 2013, the company's Board of Directors declared an annual cash dividend for 2013 of $0.24 per common share. The dividend is 9% higher than the dividend paid in 2012. The 2013 cash dividend was to be paid in equal quarterly installments of $0.06 per common share. The first payment of $0.06 per common share was paid on February 8, 2013, the second payment of $0.06 was paid on April 22, 2013 and the third payment of $0.06 was paid on July 30, 2013.
